Help & FAQ
Frequently asked questions about tracking your golf life with Golfed.
What is Golfed?
Golfed is an app for golfers who want to track every course you've played, not just your score. Log the courses you've played, build a prestige score based on the quality of those courses, earn badges, see how you rank nationally and locally, and keep a bucket list of the courses you still want to play. Think of it as a record of your golf life — the muni you grew up on, the bucket-list round you'll never forget, and everything in between.
How do I add a course I've played?
Search for the course by name, city, state, or zip, select it, and log your round. You can record the date, your score, and whether you played 9 or 18 holes. A course is added to your played list as soon as you log a round there, and you can log multiple rounds at the same course over time.
Do I have to enter my score?
No. Score is optional. Plenty of golfers log courses they played years ago and don't remember what they shot, so you can add a course without a score and it still counts toward your courses played and your prestige score. Enter a score when you have one, leave it blank when you don't.
What is the difference between My Courses & Explore?
My Courses is your personal record of the golf courses you've played. Explore lets you browse Golfed's database of more than 18,000 courses across the United States, with filters for location, public, private and more. You can also view course details, book tee times, get directions, and discover new courses to play.
How does the prestige score work?
Your prestige score reflects the quality of the courses you've played. Every course in Golfed has a prestige rating, and your score is the average of your 25 highest-rated courses, so playing a local muni for fun never drags your score down — only your best courses count. Course ratings are determined by a proprietary formula that weighs published course rankings alongside objective measures like USGA course rating and slope. Your prestige score unlocks once you've logged 15 courses.
How do I rank against other golfers?
Golfed has two leaderboards so you can see how you stack up: one ranked by total courses played, and one ranked by prestige score. The prestige leaderboard requires a minimum of 15 logged courses to qualify. Once you have more than 25 courses played, your prestige score is the average of your 25 highest-rated courses. You can also see the top golfers near you based on your home location.
A course is missing, or its details are wrong. What do I do?
Golfed includes over 18,000 courses across the US, but if you find one missing or spot incorrect details like a wrong location or yardage, email us at support@golfedapp.com and we'll get it added or corrected. We're always improving the course database, and golfer feedback is a big part of that.
Can I keep my profile private?
Yes. You can set your profile to private in settings. Private profiles are excluded from or anonymized on local leaderboards and the top-golfers-near-you feature, so you stay in control of what's visible to others.
How do I add friends and connect with other golfers?
You can add friends to see their activity feed, compare the courses you've both played, and go head-to-head on courses and prestige. Once you're connected, you'll see their logged courses and updates in your feed.
How is my data handled?
Your data is yours. We use the courses you log and your location only to power features like prestige scoring, local rankings, and course search. We don't sell your personal data. For full details, see our Privacy Policy.
What does Golfed cost?
Golfed is free to use, with core features including logging courses, your prestige score, badges, leaderboards, and your bucket list. A premium subscription unlocks additional features like unlimited course logging, messaging, group creation, and advanced stats.
How do I get help or contact you?
